Wet Bags, From Birth and Beyond

I have been cloth diapering for three years now and in turn have had collected a good amount of wet bags. The amazing thing about these bags, is that you really cannot have too many! These bad boys are not just for baby's stinky diapers. There are so many more benefits of using them and I am here to share a few ideas!

Before we go into the numerous ways to use wet bags, I want to share my favorite wet bag. As I said earlier, I have A LOT of wet bags (probably 10+ different brands). Although there are benefits to each type, my overall favorite is from Kanga Care. They have such a unique product!

Rather than a flat bag, it is actually 3D, so it can fit a ton! This is probably the biggest difference from the other brands, but it also has a much stronger zipper and handle. One of my other favorite reasons I love this bag so much is because of all the colors and prints. You have get to check out all their options, it is so impressive! It makes me want to collect them all!

Here are a few ideas on how to keep using your beloved wet bags...

1. Diaper Bag Replacement - This is probably how I use our wet bags the most. After the cloth diapers are washed, I love to pre-pack about 5 bags so they are ready for the go. I pack a couple diapers, wipes, and outfit and snack in a bag. This way, when we need to leave the house in a hurry, I am all set!

2. Swimming / Sports - Another great way to use wet bags is for swimming or sports activities. They are the perfect size to toss a wet suit or towel in!

3. Ice Pack - Because wet bags are lined with waterproof material, they also make great ice packs! This is a great idea for those little boo boos. You shouldn't even need a towel since the fabric is a bit thicker.

4. Snacks - Another way to keep using those wet bags are for snacks. For smaller wet bags, they work great to be used as a reusable snack pouch. For the larger one, I love to pack them like a lunch box!

5. Kitchen Towels - Okay, raise your hand if you hate stinky kitchen towels? Next time, just hang your wet bag in the kitchen and toss those stinky rags right in! Then, when it is full, throw the whole bag in the wash and you will be all set.

6. Make-up - For those smaller wet bags, another great use is for make-up. They are perfect for tossing in your purse and keeping all your make-up and toiletries organized and together.

7. Packing / Travel - This is another one of my favorite ways to use wet bags. These are wonderful for organizing a suitcase during travel. We love to sort kids clothing all together and this makes it easy to keep the suitcase tidy throughout the entire trip.

8. Portable Potty Case - If you are potty training a little one, this one is for you! Next time you have a long car ride, try putting your portable potty in your wet bag and keeping it in the trunk for when there is that emergency. Sometimes it is not easy to find a bathroom, and this way you will always be prepared!

9. Laundry Bag - These also make a great way to store dirty laundry. If you happen to have a pail liner (aka very big wet bag), this is even better! (PS - Kangacare makes an amazing pail liner too!) You can easily carry the wet bag to the laundry room, wash the clothes / wet bag, and put the clean clothes back in the clean bag to transport. No baskets needed!

10. Trick Or Treating - It may be a little too late for this year, but next year, try using your wet bag while Trick Or Treating. I bet you can fill those bags up full of sweet goodies.

We love wet bags in our home, and have found so many uses for them. I hope you can try them too! And, because Kanga Care is so incredible, they want to give away a wet bag to one lucky winner! Be sure to check out my Facebook page for all the details.
